Parking Information:

Free parking is available in the Open Book lot adjacent to the building. Events in the building may limit availability. Please do not park in reserved spaces.

Metered street parking, pay lots and public ramps are all available nearby. Metrodome events can affect parking availability; click here for their event schedule. Please note most meters are active until 10pm.

Handicapped parking is free seven days a week in the Open Book lot; reserved spaces are located near both the front and rear entrances to the building.

The Open Book building is located in downtown Minneapolis on Washington Ave. S. between 10th and 11th Avenues, near the University of Minnesota’s West Bank campus and the Metrodome.

Alternative Transit:

Bus: MCBA is located on Metro Transit bus routes 7 and 22. The nearest stop is right outside Open Book at Washington Ave. S. and 11th St.

Rail: We are located five blocks east of the Downtown East/Metrodome light rail station.

Bicycle: Bike racks are located near the rear entrance of the building.

HEADING EAST ON I-94: (From Western Suburbs / South Dakota)

Upon reaching downtown Minneapolis, take 4th St N exit
Turn left on 2nd Ave
Turn right on Washington Ave
Continue to 10th Ave
Open Book is on the right hand side

HEADING WEST ON I-94: (From St. Paul / Wisconsin)

Upon reaching downtown Minneapolis, take 5th St exit
Take first right at stop sign (11th Ave)
Take left on 3rd St
Take right on 10th Ave
Take right on Washington Ave

HEADING NORTH ON 35W: (From Southern Suburbs / Iowa)

Upon reaching downtown Minneapolis, take 3rd St/U of M exit
Follow sign for "U of M West Bank"
Turn left on Washington Ave
Go four blocks to 11th Ave
Open Book is on the left hand side
(Parking lot is accessible only from southbound Washington Ave;
when travelling northbound, access parking lot via alley off 11th or 10th Ave)

HEADING SOUTH ON 35W: (From Northern Suburbs / Northern MN)

Upon reaching downtown Minneapolis, take Washington Ave exit
Turn right on Washington Ave
Go two blocks to 11th Ave
Open Book is on the left hand side
