Paper Marbling: Patterns 2

  • Minnesota Center for Book Arts 1011 South Washington Avenue #100 Minneapolis, MN, 55415 United States (map)

Sunday, November 16; 10am–4pm CT

Mastering the figure-8 and complex waves is essential for every marbler's toolkit.

This in-person workshop builds on Paper Marbling: Patterns 1, with a focus on figure-8 patterns and complex wave patterns. These intricate, non-directional patterns can be easily applied in box making, collaging, book covers, end sheets, jewelry, and much more! We’ll also discuss how to develop your own unique patterns. At the end of the workshop, you will take home marbled paper samples of each of the eight patterns, plus whatever you create. A comprehensive handout is provided and participants are encouraged to continue building their skills after the workshop in MCBA’s Marbling Labs.

Wear clothes that can get dirty and non-slip, supportive, water-resistant shoes (i.e., rubber boots, garden clogs, etc.).

Level: Intermediate. Introduction to Marbling and Paper Marbling: Patterns 1 or other equivalent marbling experience is required before registering for this workshop.
Certificate: 6 hours, Category B or C
