Panel to Feature McKnight Fellows & National Arts Figures
2022 McKnight Book Artist Fellows will present their work Sunday, May 7 at 11am
Minnesota Center for Book Arts is pleased to present our 2022 McKnight Book Artist Fellows, Corinne Teed and CB Sherlock, in a public panel alongside the visiting arts professionals working with them throughout their fellowship year. Corinne, who is a research-based artist working in printmaking, book arts, time-based media, and social practice, will have a conversation with Kari Conte, a curator and writer focused on global contemporary art who has curated more than 40 exhibitions and regularly contributes to books, exhibition, catalogs, and magazines. CB, who is a letterpress printer, book artist, and paper engineer, will discuss her work with Ruth Rogers, Curator of Special Collections at Wellesley College.
The panel talk is free and open to the public and will take place in the Open Book Performance Hall on the second floor of Open Book on Sunday, May 7, 11am–12pm, with a reception to follow.
Offered in partnership with the McKnight Foundation, these competitive fellowships support two mid-career book artists annually with $25,000 in non-restricted funds, studio access at MCBA, and professional development opportunities to deepen their art practice, including studio visits from national figures in book arts.
Following brief visual presentations, each fellow will speak with a visiting arts professional about their specific projects and how their creative practices have evolved. At the end of the conversation, there will be time for audience questions. After the panel discussion, audience members are welcome to stay for a reception in the Literary Commons outside the Performance Hall until 1pm.
