Accordion Collage Book with Surprise Tunnel

Wednesday, February 25; 4:30–7pm CT

Using ephemera, images, and scrap paper, build a unique structure that houses a folded accordion, which reveals a dimensional tunnel attached to the inside of the back cover.

In this virtual workshop, we will collage and paint the covers, the accordion, and tunnel. Then, we’ll each create a story that carries the viewer from the front cover, to the inside accordion panels, and then to the dimensional collaged tunnel in the back. Participants can choose to work with a theme or they can embrace spontaneity and work with whatever ephemera they have readily available.

Level: Beginner. Basic experience making books (folding/scoring, understanding of paper grain, and experience with cover assembly) or collage is helpful, but not necessary.
Certificate: 2.5 hours, Category B or D
