Construct a dynamic, adhesive binding with Turkish map-folds and petal-fold variations, in this virtual workshop.
These folded structures expand outward when opened, creating dramatic and dimensional spreads that feel architectural and kinetic.
Learn how to measure and fold precise Turkish and petal-fold units, then assemble them into a cohesive text block. Explore the balance between structure and play—how controlled folding techniques can produce surprising, “exploding” visual effects when the book is opened.
Participants will leave the workshop with up to two books and the skills to adapt these folded forms into artist’s books, interactive journals, or sculptural paper works.
Level: Beginner. All levels are welcome. Basic paper-folding experience is helpful, but not required.
Certificate: 2 hours, Category B or D
