In-Kind Studio Donations

Equipment & Materials Donations

MCBA is interested in considering donations of equipment and materials. To donate, reach out to MCBA’s Studio Coordinator and Resident Printer with a description and image of each item you’d like to donate. If your item(s) are accepted, arrangements can be made for drop-off.

MCBA does not accept walk-in donations and reserves the right to decline donations. We do not accept damaged items or equipment that is not in working order. Since MCBA is not a collecting institution, we do not accept donations of art or books. We do not have the resources to care for these resources or make them accessible.

Your financial support—through memberships and donations—is the most effective way to support MCBA’s mission.

We may accept these items:

  • Wood type

  • Metal type

  • Type cases

  • Printing presses

  • Letterpress tools

  • Screen printing tools

  • Box fans

  • Moulds and deckles

  • Paper beaters

  • Book presses

  • Nipping presses

  • Decorative papers

  • Printmaking papers

  • Leather and book cloth

  • Bookmaking and printmaking tools

  • 100% cotton t-shirts, any color, no printing/blank

We will not accept these items:

  • Magazines

  • Artist’s books and book models

  • Antiquarian books

  • Reference books and encyclopedias

  • Paper cutters

  • Paper fiber or scrap fabric
