In this in-person workshop, you'll discover lettering techniques through a guided approach to drawing letters and short words, and walk away with a set of your own hand-lettered seasonal cards!
What is hand-lettering? Put simply, it's the art of drawing letters and words, rather than writing them. Since you don’t need much to get started, there are so many approaches and styles to explore—which means there are many applications for it, too!
Instruction will begin with a short introduction to hand-lettering and basic techniques needed to draw different letterforms. Next, we'll spend time practicing through guided exercises to get you thinking about letters in a new way and build comfort experimenting and exploring ways to bend the rules of type.
The workshop will round out with guided project time to craft your own hand-lettered holiday cards—just in time for the holiday season and beyond! You will walk away with the knowledge and tools needed to continue hand-lettering on your own.
