Thursdays: February 20, March 6, 20; 6–9pm CT
Have an idea for a print but not sure where to start? Stuck in the middle of a project and in need of help? Or, are you interested in taking your screen printing skills to the next level?
Join this unique in-person workshop designed for screen printers with introductory-level experience and a desire to create an independent project with guidance.
As a group, we’ll go in-depth on design, registration, editioning, and troubleshooting through discussion, examples, and demonstrations. We’ll help each participant apply those topics to individual projects. The goal is to come away from the workshop with the skills and techniques needed to take your printing to the next level in a supportive community of fellow printers. It’s likely that you will also come away with some cool new prints! So bring your new ideas, bring your half-finished projects, bring your troubleshooting questions, and we will work through them together.
The materials fee covers consumables in MCBA's studios such as ink, emulsion, and maintenance of screens and equipment. This fee is low because participants are expected to source their own paper or fabric for their individual projects.
Participants are encouraged to participate in Screen Print Labs in between workshop sessions and after the workshop ends to access MCBA's studios to continue screen printing independently.
Level: Intermediate; participants must have completed Introduction to Screen Printing or similar workshop prior to enrolling.
Certificate: 9 hours, Category B or C
Pricing
$221/participant (10% discount for MCBA members) + $15 materials fee

MCBA offers two scholarship types for workshops—Financial Hardship Scholarships and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Scholarships—to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom these scholarships do not apply, register at the Adult rate and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
