The imagery in Burial II explores my connection to my childhood home I had to let go of in the midst of family conflict and references the following lines from my poem: ‘Let the dirt pull you down, rejoin with the bones of your sunken home. Hannah Rae (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist living in Duluth, MN, working in paper making, printmaking and fiber arts. Hannah’s work discusses themes of complicated family relationships, the difficult concept of home, and their deepening connection with the natural environment. They use intricate and laborious processes of print, paper, and fiber to unravel and understand their experiences, seeking to weave them back together into something that can be called home. Outside of their art practice, Hannah enjoys mending clothing, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with their blind cat.
