Aimee Maychack

Aimee Maychack (they/them) is a printmaker, letterpress printer, and educator whose work centers on identity, community, and the power of speaking through ink. After stepping away from a career in emergency medicine, they chose to pursue printmaking full-time, traveling across the country to learn from master printers and historic shops, including Hatch Show Print (Nashville), Bruno Press (MN), Power & Light Press (NM), and Partners in Print (Seattle).

Working primarily in linocut and letterpress, Aimee creates bold, layered prints that merge image and language; from landscape reductions inspired by the American West to socially engaged poster work that responds to the present moment. Their teaching philosophy emphasizes experimentation, process, and accessibility. They believe printmaking is for everyone, whether you consider yourself an artist or not, and that carving and printing by hand creates space for both reflection and courage. When Aimee’s not at the press, they are likely on the road with her dog, Barkley, documenting stories and building community through print.
