María Carolina Ceballos
María Carolina Ceballos (she/her) is a Colombian book artist with emphasis in bookbinding and artists’ books. Carolina holds a BFA in Visual Arts with a minor in Photography from the Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano. In 2021, she earned an MFA in Book Arts with distinction from The University of Iowa where she was also a book conservation technician and digital book design instructor. Since then, Carolina has worked as a paper conservator at the Archivo General de la Nación (Bogotá) and as an independent book artist under the name Canto Press where she creates artists’ books, teaches bookbinding, and sells handmade goods. She is the recipient of the Caxton Club Grant Award 2020-2021 and the Holle Award 2022. Carolina’s work has been exhibited in Colombia, Japan, and the United States, and her books can be found in the collections of The University of Alabama, The University of Iowa, University of California, University of Miami, University of Michigan, and elsewhere.
