Savannah Bustillo
Savannah Bustillo (she/her) is a queer Latinx printmaker and book artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Often through language games, her work takes small, discarded objects, sounds, and movements that seem silent and insignificant and reemphasizes them. Recently this practice has turned to the visuality of sound, as Bustillo creates recordings of popularized American stories and turns them into images that the viewer must decode. She has helped teach workshops and demos in printmaking and book arts at Washington University in St. Louis, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Women’s Studio Workshop, and now MCBA!
