Zines as Resistance

Saturday, December 12; 1–4pm CT

Learn about the historical role of zines in political movements, celebrate zines as a tool for building community, and explore the perzine (zines that feature the authors’ subjectivity) as a form of resistance within the context of activism and organizing.

Participants can expect to have the time and space during the in-person workshop to create their own cut-and-fold zine and will leave the workshop with the tools and knowledge needed to continue creating and distributing zines.

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome. 
Certificate: 3 hours, Category A or D


Pricing

$70 | $35 Scholarship | $105 Pay-It-Forward

$15 materials fee

Scholarships are available for individuals facing adversity as it relates to identity, income/wealth, and lack of access to arts resources. The Pay-It-Forward rate (tuition, plus 50%) supports MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available. We leave it to you to choose the rate that is meaningful to you based on your income, wealth, and privilege status. MCBA members receive a 10% discount on tuition.
