Bridge Book by Siah Armajani
An exquisite limited edition book published through a partnership with the Walker Art Center and Minnesota Center for Book Arts in 1991, featuring seven muliti-color woodblock prints by Siah Armajani (1939 - 2020).
Siah Armajani was an Iranian-American sculptor and proponent of public art who designed the Irene Hixon Whitney Bridge found in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center. This bridge, along with six others, are featured prints constructed from wood blocks carved in the artist’s studio and handprinted on a gatefold in color. The prints are accompanied by photographs, drawings, and text from John Ashberry, Herman Melville, Martin Heidegger, and the artist. Book is enclosed in a sturdy bookboard slipcase. Edition of 300.
