“Happy Bakery follows a character who wears a smiley face balloon every day to work, a bakery. Days in the bakery bring back childhood memories, pre-balloon-face times. After a hard day at the bakery, a cat affectionately reaches out and pops the balloon. The story unfolds how the character started wearing it, and what happens to it.

Kyung Eun You (she/her) is a Korean visual artist based in New York. She makes drawings, paintings, prints, artist’s books and animations. You has been awarded with Book Artists-in-Residence Program from Center for Book Arts, New York, NY (2023); NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Printmaking/Drawing/Book Arts from New York Foundation for the Arts (2020); and Artist's Books Residency Grant from Women's Studio Workshop, Rosendale, NY (2019).
