letterpress print in a much more subtle blue ink gradient on warm off-white gmund used cardstock. printed on my Heidelberg Windmill.

this one was originally made as a conceptual collab with my sweetheart, and printed during my letterpress printing apprenticeship with pilar nadal at pickwick. i’m so in love with the way that ocean green-blue fades to dark blue the more fathoms down you go…

i wrote this line first for the QUEERS SAY stickers — and wanted to provide this sentiment in two ways, for public spaces & at home, for your raging times & your times of being surrounded by queer love.”

Nicole Manganelli (she/her) is the printmaker behind the press(es) at radical emprints. She started to learn letterpress printing in 2012, just as she was also beginning to learn about grassroots organizing. She ended up spending about nine years at a base-building organization, where she worked on a health care is a human right campaign and learned about teaching grassroots fundraising and principled, values-aligned grantwriting (both for when she’s working in orgs within and outside of the non-profit industrial complex.) She was doing all of this while learning how to be a letterpress printer — so it was a natural progression to start putting printmaking & organizing together.
