Rage is Tinder/Hope is Fuel Print by Radical Emprints

$13.00

“Black ink on bright white Flurry cotton paper.

We need both rage & hope to spark & sustain movement work. Sometimes you need tinder to start something - and sometimes you need fuel that’s gonna burn longer term.

I’ve been iterating on this phrase for many years, and finally feel like I’ve found it’s final form. Typesetting italics is fun (and not actually that hard - you just need triangular wedges of spacing material to make your form rectangular.) And that Agency Gothic Open typeface will forever be a favorite of mine.

Letterpress printed on a Vandercook 4 at Pickwick Independent Press in Portland, ME in July 2024.” - Radical Emprints

7” x 5.25”

Nicole Manganelli (she/her) is the printmaker behind the press(es) at radical emprints. She started to learn letterpress printing in 2012, just as she was also beginning to learn about grassroots organizing. She ended up spending about nine years at a base-building organization, where she worked on a health care is a human right campaign and learned about teaching grassroots fundraising and principled, values-aligned grantwriting (both for when she’s working in orgs within and outside of the non-profit industrial complex.) She was doing all of this while learning how to be a letterpress printer — so it was a natural progression to start putting printmaking & organizing together.
