This artist book set honors my enslaved ancestors, whose bodies carried the weight of labor yet also the shimmer of love and survival. Through acts of embellishment, gesture, and reverence, I reimagine adornment as both a shield and a sanctuary. In their resistance, there is love; in their endurance, a brilliance that refuses to dim.
