Forrest Wasko (they/them) is an artist living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Wasko likes to think of the act of photographing as collecting. The subjects they depict are often familiar surroundings and everyday moments, and the process in which they are made is mostly instinctive and reactive. Although presented as straight photographs, Wasko would not consider the images to be documentary or journalistic—rather, they are a way of turning the visible world into a reflection of their own thoughts. Using this collection of images, Wasko edits them together to create narratives in the form of photo series, installations, and photo books.
