A Study in Sliceforms

  • Minnesota Center for Book Arts 1011 South Washington Avenue #100 Minneapolis, MN, 55415 United States (map)

Thursday, April 16; 6–9pm CT

Build pop-up volumes using a sculptural, flexible technique in this rare in-person workshop with Chicago-based artist Shawn Sheehy.

Sliceforms are dimensional structures defined by rows of intersecting planes. In paper engineering, this approach can be beautifully detailed and sculptural; and with their myriad non-adhesive joins, the forms move effortlessly. The models demonstrate application of technique to both geometric solids and organic forms. Build a collection of pop-up models using a simple set of hand tools and a kit of pre-cut pieces.
