Embroidery on Paper

Tuesdays: February 3 & 10; 4:30–6:30pm CT

In this virtual workshop, learn embroidery techniques for paper and how to create a wide range of effects.

Stitches vary in line quality and texture, allowing you to create both organic and geometric shapes, depending on your project and aesthetic sensibility. Learn to sew with one or many colors as well as the effects of sewing on different weights of paper. Pros and cons of sewing onto paper instead of fabric will be discussed. Instruction will include demonstration, examples, and guided practice time. Learn how to use this technique for bookbinding covers, art pieces, and more!

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome.
Certificate: 4 hours, Category B or D
