More Alternative Printmaking at Home

Tuesdays: August 4, 11, 18; 5–7:30pm CT

This virtual workshop expands on printmaking techniques covered in Alternative Printmaking at Home using accessible materials to make prints at home.

New gel plate techniques will be covered, including image transfer, painting, and stencils. Then, we’ll explore paper lithography using gum arabic and another form of lithography using aluminum foil and soda. All of these printmaking processes can be done safely at home with easy cleanup, and without caustic chemicals and printing presses.

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome. Printmaking experience is helpful, but not necessary.
Certificate: 7.5 hours, Category A; fulfills Core printing requirement
