Still Life Artist's Book by Beth Dow

$20.00

Still Life depicts simple vessels used in the studio. These well-worn objects are usually stashed away, but here, I set them out for individual portraits to give them a moment of glory before returning them, once more, behind the clutter. I was looking for a way to situate this between the beautiful and the ordinary. The softly-lit photographs were shot with my cellphone and printed on heavy paper, and I used office equipment to bind the small book. Can a big idea feel smaller than its parts? Yes. Can a small idea feel larger than its parts? Also yes.” -Beth Dow

Wire binding; acetate and chipboard covers

4” x 3.75” x 0.5”
