Take your Coptic binding skills further in this intermediate, in-person workshop focused on advanced techniques and project design.
We’ll begin with an introduction to advanced Coptic binding that goes beyond basic station and sewing patterns, with multiple thread colors, needles and sewing angles. In the afternoon, participants will design and construct their own variation. With instructor guidance, participants will plan station placement, threads and needles, and create their own unique design. Participants will walk away with one advanced binding and one self-designed project.
Level: Intermediate. Experience making a single-needle and paired-needle Coptic binding is highly recommended.

In book arts, boxes are created as containers to house books, paper, and other objects; they can also function as the artwork itself as the structure provides ample opportunities for creativity and experimentation to flourish.
