The four-flap box—sometimes called a "phase" box—is a fantastic structure used to protect a book from wear and tear.
This enclosure is an accessible way to protect a book that may be fragile or in need of repair. Used extensively by book collectors and artists, this structure is often found in special collection libraries and museums. In this in-person workshop, learn the tools and materials needed to make the four-flap box and how to make the structure yourself. Then, make a custom four-flap box for a book you bring with you from home. Choose a book that is no larger than 8 x 6 x 2 inches to bring with you to the workshop for this purpose.
Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome.
