Clamshell boxes are used to store and protect precious objects—anything from books to a collection of artworks to sheet music.
In this in-person workshop, create a small clamshell box to fit a deck of cards. Expand your experience in the basics of box building by developing skills to make hinges and learning about the function of these useful structures.
Level: Intermediate. Participation in any other box making workshop is required. Participants should be able to wrap boards and check to make sure boards and compartments are square.
Certificate: 9 hours, Category B or D

Scholarships are available for individuals facing adversity as it relates to identity, income/wealth, and lack of access to arts resources. The Pay-It-Forward rate (tuition, plus 50%) supports MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available. We leave it to you to choose the rate that is meaningful to you based on your income, wealth, and privilege status. MCBA members receive a 10% discount on tuition.
