Digital & Analog Zines

  • Minnesota Center for Book Arts 1011 South Washington Avenue #100 Minneapolis, MN, 55415 United States (map)

Thursday, June 25; 6–9pm CT

Learn to fold six different styles of zines—from the classic 8-page structure to larger, more innovative booklets—then experiment with creating your own structures.

Expand your zine skills in this in-person workshop! In addition to analog zines, we’ll explore common, free digital design tools that advanced zine makers often use to prepare zines for print. We will also talk through the Twin Cities zine scene, from the best places to print your work to zine clubs, events, and fairs in the region. You’ll leave equipped with the knowledge and skills to begin or deepen your zine practice, as well as with a set of brainstorm activities to use as you start to generate new work.

If you are interested in exploring digital zine design tools in real time, bring a laptop or tablet.

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome.
Certificate: 3 hours, Category A or D
